In Genesis 18 and 19 Lot is rescued, not because of his righteousness, but because of his association with Abraham. God intervenes and Lot is saved because Abraham interceded for him.

In these chapters of Genesis Abraham gives us a picture of his descendant, Jesus Christ. Praise be to God - for like Lot - I will be saved from coming judgement because of my association with Jesus! “He is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.” Hebrews 7:25
